Twenty-four junkies from VA, MD, and FL made it up to Lake Anna this year for the annual race and freestyle competition.  Even better, six junkies entered competitions this year versus the two last year!

Bryce (90sj) entered Novice Limited something class on his completely stock Waveblaster.  It was his first time racing and he consistently placed 6th, well ahead of many more modified Blasters.  Noel (DCRocks) entered the same race for his second year and placed 7th right behind Bryce - go team!  Landon (diamondaudio) also entered his first race in Novice Runabout and placed 1st on his stock Seadoo RXT!

Brian (Conquistador, CapitanBS), Phil (Phildo, P&P Performance), and Cameron all entered their first freestyle competition this year.  Brian had two excellent runs and offered a fresh variety of tricks on his Kawasaki 550 versus the same-ole-same-ole superjet tricks.  Phil has been secretly

Wavejunkies and Wavedaze featured in Ride Magazine PDF Print E-mail

Wavedaze 2007 a HUGE success!

More on that later. Now it's time to join the AWA and get a complimentary subscription to Ride magazine! The Jan/Feb 2008 issue just started shipping and I imagine will be available for any new subscribers for at least the next month or so. Our Virginia Beach Wavejunkies AWA charter club and Wavedaze coverage includes some awesome shots by Dave at Reelaction Photography and some great inputs but charter club and Wavedaze organizers BS and Allen. Cool

This issue marks the fourth or fifth time junkies have been spotted in the nation's top magazine for covering freeride events. Obviously there are more freeriders included than just us but it's still pretty cool! Get your subscription and be sure to bring this issue out to your next junkie ride for some autographs! Haha, check the trash talk forum for info on or for setting up the next ride.

Junkies hit the road to Daytona Motosurf 2008 PDF Print E-mail

That time of year has come and gone again, and what a time it was!  Where to start?  I don't think any amount of words can possibly convey the fun, the energy, and the partying that was had by all - you're really just going to have to catch the caravan down next time!

Some EIGHTEEN junkies and significant others made the three-day Daytona Motosurf event this year.  Mike and his ladies drove from Maryland with his ski; Air Gramps, junior air, zimmy, fusion, lucke, lovin, spasm, phildo, gpnvb, capitanBS, and their chicks all caravanned from Virginia Beach with like 12 skis on three trailers (one pulled by phil's Civic!); masterblaster flew of course, as did a couple others; and Pitstop and I commuted an hour up the road!  Not many regulars missed this one.

Most of the fun was spent hanging out with each other and other freerider friends we've met at these events.  And there was a little fun to be had on the water as well.  Air/water temps in the 80's/60's and surf mostly between 3-6ft made for terrific conditions.  I still have a lot of video riding footage to go through so stay tuned a couple weeks from now for the next Wavejunkies vid!

Junkie-Tunes PDF Print E-mail

A Toon by any other name, just couldn't be.... Junkie-Tune

From yard scrap to the water was no simple task for this fine vessel. In early summer of 2007 a fellow junkie discovered this 23’ Hurricane tri-hull fiberglass boat under some neighbors weeds.

With the excitement of Masterblaster and CapitanBS they dragged the boat out of the shallows of a small grave and began restoration at Lovin’s house. After about 6 hours of some small labor and a few beers the excitement for most fell short of having even the bilge pump working. The boat began to sink into the abyss of another shallow grave when Capehenry and Torr decided that the Southern end of Chesapeake was the wrong place to accomplish the large task.

The swamp infested hull was dragged to the property of Capehenry where a $50 dollar motor was installed. Yes $50. That’s a story in itself, but now we have a 85hp 1988 Johnson motor installed.
