Twenty-four junkies from VA, MD, and FL made it up to Lake Anna this year for the annual race and freestyle competition.  Even better, six junkies entered competitions this year versus the two last year!

Bryce (90sj) entered Novice Limited something class on his completely stock Waveblaster.  It was his first time racing and he consistently placed 6th, well ahead of many more modified Blasters.  Noel (DCRocks) entered the same race for his second year and placed 7th right behind Bryce - go team!  Landon (diamondaudio) also entered his first race in Novice Runabout and placed 1st on his stock Seadoo RXT!

Brian (Conquistador, CapitanBS), Phil (Phildo, P&P Performance), and Cameron all entered their first freestyle competition this year.  Brian had two excellent runs and offered a fresh variety of tricks on his Kawasaki 550 versus the same-ole-same-ole superjet tricks.  Phil has been secretly

practicing his flatwater skills moreso than his surf skills and was killin it with some sick inverted nose stabs and his own hood riding flair.  Cameron came outta nowhere on his stock superjet (only mod is his footwells) and was throwing down some much bigger tricks than are usually possible on a stock ski; I look forward to seeing what he brings next year.  Congrats to all the freestylers for stepping it up and representing the junkies with some good times.  It sucked sitting the bench this year but fortunately Brian's, Phil's, and Cameron's energy was enough to go around!

The other freestyle finalists were Matt Hirt, Don Hirt, Brenden, and Nate from Pennsylvania.

The rest of us junkies all had a good time partying and living vicariously through those fit enough to rip it up.  The whore of the weekend was Phil's new stroker motor superjet.  Cost him $5.00 in gas everytime someone took it for a 5min spin, but it will cost everyone else $3000 in upgrades over the Winter to feed their new additiction!

The Lake Anna event is held annually each August at the Lake Anna Beach Marina campground in Bumpass, VA.  This year had over 100 skis and over 250 people camped out on a perfect peninsula-type location.  Many junkies throw in together to share tents, campers, food, and drink.  It's a good time all pwc fans should take advantage of next year!
